Clearwater Fishing Charters

Red Snapper Season

Posted on

With Snapper season underway, we are happy to announce the bite has been great and the average size is better than last year! The Clearwater area has long been a great place to target Red Snapper and this year is no exception. Along with limits of snapper we have been catching limits of Grouper with a few Blackfin Tuna in the mix on the longer trips. There’s plenty of Mangrove and yellowtail snapper to be had as well.

The inshore boat has been seeing great fishing in Clearwater as well, mostly targeting Redfish and Snook. The Tarpon fishing has been heating up and will continue to provide opportunities all summer.

Clearwater Fishing Charters – January Report

Posted on

Cold water temps lately have adjusted the deep sea fishing pattern. Hogfish and Amberjack have been the popular target lately. The reason is due in part because to both species don’t mind the cold water and both are in season for harvest. While fishing methods for the Hogfish and Amberjack are vastly different, it is possible to target both on a full day charter.

The half day charters are targeting hogfish and sea bass and have been very successful this past week.

We are starting to book up for spring break, so make sure you plan early as this year looks to book up early, with everyone looking forward to some Florida Sunshine!

Our full day Deep Sea Fishing charters are catching good amounts of big Gag and Red grouper along with some jumbo sized Mangrove Snapper. There’s also plenty of huge Amberjack for a little catch and release fun as they are not in season to be kept.

The 3/4 day trips are seeing good numbers of Hogfish and some Gag Grouper mixed in. Also to be had are some nice sized Porgies and of course all the Grunts (Key West Snapper) you care to keep. The 1/2 day Charters continue to catch plenty of Hogfish. For questions and availability Call or visit our website at:

With the summer heat in full swing the fishing has been better deeper. We have been fishing the shorter trips earlier than normal to take advantage of cooler conditions. The deep sea charters have been producing nice Grouper, Snapper and more throughout the entire day due to cooler water temps farther offshore.

Here’s a couple on Cobia caught during a full day fishing charter out of Clearwater Beach Florida!
