Clearwater Fishing Charters – January Report
Cold water temps lately have adjusted the deep sea fishing pattern. Hogfish and Amberjack have been the popular target lately. The reason is due in part because to both species don’t mind the cold water and both are in season for harvest. While fishing methods for the Hogfish and Amberjack are vastly different, it is possible to target both on a full day charter.
The half day charters are targeting hogfish and sea bass and have been very successful this past week.
We are starting to book up for spring break, so make sure you plan early as this year looks to book up early, with everyone looking forward to some Florida Sunshine!
Red Snapper Fishing
Red Snapper season is set to open June 1st, 2017 in the Gulf of Mexico. This year looks toy be exceptional, as we are catching large amounts of both red snapper and Grouper out of Clearwater Florida. Recent charters, while targeting other species, are catching and releasing a lot of keeper fish. With June first only days away, jot’s a good time to book if you’d like to load up on Snapper! February Fishing is Red Hot!!
Clearwater Beach has been really warm this winter, this has allowed the fishing to remain red hot! Our Full day charters are having a blast offshore catching big Amberjack, Grouper and Snapper.
On the 3/4 and half day charterswe are targeting the ever so tasty Hogfish. With our long term weather forecast remaining steady, we should continue to experience great fishing here in Clearwater Beach FL. Our fishing charters run year round and we always target the hottest bite and best action!!
Clearwater Fishing Report
The winter pattern for fishing is in full effect right now in the Clearwater area. With the water temps on a roller coaster in between cold fronts, the fishing has been steady, and some days pre front have been stellar. On the 1/2 and 3/4 days we are targeting Hog Snapper and Red Grouper, while on the full Days it’s Amberjack and Snapper! We are booking up fast for 2017 Spring Break, so reserve now!!
January Fishing Clearwater Florida
With last weekend’s cold front passing through the Clearwater area, the air and water temperatures both fell quickly. We are forecasted to see a warming trend through next week and this should help the bite! Hog Snapper, Red Grouper and Amberjack will all be on the target list for upcoming charters! There has also been large schools of Redfish on the deeper wrecks, these fish are way over slot size, but are to fun catch and release.
Deep Sea Fishing – Clearwater FL Report
The Deep sea fishing out of Clearwater Florida has been nothing short of excellent the past couple weeks. Over the Holiday break our charters have been getting limits of Grouper, Hog Snapper and some nice Cobia. The Amberjack bite has also been on fire and the 2017 season opens today for Amberjack!! Book your trip and get it while it’s hot!!
Amberjack Opening January 1st 2017
Amberjack are scheduled to open January 1, 2017, just days away. The past couple weeks the AJ’s have been present just about everywhere, although we weren’t targeting them on our fishing charters, they are fun to catch and release. They should continue to stay offshore of the Clearwater Beach area through winter, making them a great target species.
