With last weekend’s cold front passing through the Clearwater area, the air and water temperatures both fell quickly. We are forecasted to see a warming trend through next week and this should help the bite! Hog Snapper, Red Grouper and Amberjack will all be on the target list for upcoming charters! There has also been large schools of Redfish on the deeper wrecks, these fish are way over slot size, but are to fun catch and release.
The Deep sea fishing out of Clearwater Florida has been nothing short of excellent the past couple weeks. Over the Holiday break our charters have been getting limits of Grouper, Hog Snapper and some nice Cobia. The Amberjack bite has also been on fire and the 2017 season opens today for Amberjack!! Book your trip and get it while it’s hot!!
Amberjack are scheduled to open January 1, 2017, just days away. The past couple weeks the AJ’s have been present just about everywhere, although we weren’t targeting them on our fishing charters, they are fun to catch and release. They should continue to stay offshore of the Clearwater Beach area through winter, making them a great target species.
It’s December and that means the Grouper bite is red hot! Our charters have been doing really well catching Gag Grouper on the full day trips. The bite has been best in 100 feet of water off Clearwater Beach. Dead and live bait are both producing quality fish! Call Capt. Brandon Fraley (727) 243-4082 for more information or to book your charter!
The fishing has been really good lately. Cooler water temps have pushed the Gag Grouper shallower, and the Hog Snapper bite has turned on! All of our charters last week produced good numbers of both species. Book Now, the weather is great and the bite is on fire here in Clearwater Beach, FL.
With the typical heat of September, our Clearwater Fishing Charters have been leaving early to get on the best bite. Recently we’ve been running several Shark and Goliath Grouper trips. Plenty of great action is being had with blacktops, bull and lemon sharks. The Goliaths have been in the 250-300 lb range and providing a fun catch and release fight. The first day of Fall 2016 is today and within the next few months we should see the Gag Grouper action turn up a notch. Book now for October, spots are filling up fast!!
The Grouper fishing is as good as it gets in the Clearwater area right now. Several of my 3/4 day charters are getting quick limits of Gag Grouper within the first 2 hours of fishing, this gives them more time to target Snapper, Kings, etc..
The full day charters are enjoying a nice mix of Gag and Red Grouper along with Red Snapper.
